About me

For those who don’t know me, I’m a biker and computer geek from Columbus, Ohio, and there is nothing more fun than seeing the country on my Harley Davidson. There are so many types of terrain and climate in the fifty states, and I’ve ridden in all of them (there’s some qualification to that statement, but that’s another story). Still, there is somewhere in each state that I would still like to visit.

My first trip to the Sturgis Rally, in 1998, was a solo ride. The following year, I returned to Sturgis.  Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures on those trips.  When I did my first cross-country trip, in the year 2000, I knew that I needed to take lots of pictures, and there were so many adventures that I wanted to share with my friends and family. By publishing a calendar, I was able to share the photos and a few of the stories. The annual motorcycle trips, and the calendars, have become a tradition. In 2007, it became time to expand onto the Internet. I can share more than a dozen photos, and more than a few brief sentences about the adventures. This site is still developing.

Not everyone gets or makes the opportunity to travel. and I learned very quickly that many people see the country through my calendars.  I learned very quickly that people enjoyed the sense of the experience that I was able to convey, and the chance to see new places. I did not set out to take pictures for a calendar, but I found that it is a great way to share the trip. Since that first big trip, the focus of my picture taking is for the calendar. It does affect what I take pictures of, and how I take pictures. It also motivates me to go to new places for the next calendar, which is all the reason I need to get out on the bike and travel. It is a cycle.

I truly enjoy traveling, writing, taking pictures, and the opportunities to share the experiences. If the experiences and photos from my travels are able to inspire you to seek out your own adventures, then this site has been successful.
